ABOUT US

Many authorities and government bodies worldwide use MUSC to provide advice on the maritime supply chain.

Det Norske Veritas have worked with MUSC since 2000 to build security standards for the maritime industry. Following 9/11, at the request of the UN International Maritime Organisation (IMO), MUSC and DNV helped develop the new ISPS code regulations to counter maritime terrorism.


Our input to ISPS code included:

Pilot Studies assessing the impact of the ISPS code and changes to the SOLAS convention

Defining the role of Classification societies in certifying port and ship facility systems

Developed criteria for the selection of Recognised Security Organisations
