1973Founded as Underwater Security Consultants Limited (USCL), providing maritime security advisory services to governments, offshore oil and gas and insurance organisations.


1973 - 2000Maritime security services in Europe, South America, the Far East, Middle East and Africa.


1975Accredited Warranty Consultant to Lloyd's of London (insurance).


1987 - 1999Iran-Iraq, Gulf and Angolan civil war, advice and onboard support to ships operating in high risk areas.

Underwater explosive ordnance disposal in former battle areas including, Vietnam, Indonesia, Taiwan, North and West Africa and the Baltic and North Seas.


1999 – 2000Guidelines for anti-piracy formulated with Norwegian classification society DNV.


2001International Maritime Organisation (IMO) invites MUSC to input into ISPS code.


2002Results of study into the impact of ISPS Code presented to IMO Member States in London.


2002Supply chain audits from Far East to US for US Department of Homeland Security Operation Safe Commerce.


2003World Customs Organisation's Task Force for Supply Chain Security and Trade Facilitation invite MUSC to participate.


2003MUSC conducts the first ISPS courses in the world, these ground-breaking courses are still accredited by DNV.

World's first maritime security training courses for Flag State Control and classification society auditors conducted by MUSC.


2003 - 2005Flag States including the United Kingdom, Norway, Germany, Panama, Malaysia, Singapore, Estonia, Cayman Islands, Isle of Man, United Arab Emirates recognize MUSC training.


2005"Recognised Security Organisation" status achieved by Flag States including Ireland, Greece, United Arab Emirates, Estonia, Panama, Indonesia, Chile, Ecuador, Nigeria, Senegal, Seychelles.


2006ICTS Europe, Antwerp-based aviation security specialist acquires a majority shareholding in MUSC.


2007European Port Access ID Card (EPAIC) feasibility study awarded to PortIDS consortium (of which MUSC is a member) by the European Commission.

European Commission OLAF (Office Européen de Lutte Antifraud) investigation services provided by MUSC.

Maritime security training for member states of the Organization of American States.

United Kingdom Protectorates maritime and container security training for UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office.


2008Iraq's South Oil Company contract MUSC to conduct unexploded ordnance survey of Al Faw Peninsula seabed.


2009Vessel Shield anti-piracy solution for maritime piracy launched in association with Special Contingency Risks.


2009MUSC expands offices to No.6 Bell Yard, Fleet Street, London.
